Community Engagement
Responsible Whale Watching in Tribuga’s Gulf
We are going to be providing the communities from the municipalities of Bahía Solano and Nuquí with training and workshops about responsible whale watching. This training will offer information on different aspects such as biology and ecology of humpback whales; policies and regulations for best whale watching practices, proper seaman documentation for the designated location and prepare operators through guidance and help to work with tourists, addressing security, management and customer service.
For this frame work, we are looking for the participation of diverse parties to strongly deliver and get involved. We can’t emphasis enough on how important the collaboration of different parties for educational purposes is, their involvement is as important as contributing to the knowledge. Now, we are collaborating with National Natural Parks of Colombia and Macuáticos Foundation.
What does responsible whale watching mean?
Responsible whale watching includes ethical guide lines and ideas that ensure that whale watching is conducted in a manner that:

Volunteers
We are seeking two full-time volunteer research assistants for the project “Todos Somos Pacifico” forthcoming field season 2020 in Tribuga’s Gulf, Colombia Pacific coast.
Specifically, you will assist on boat and land-based surveys. Both assistants are needed from July, August and September. The project investigates changes in breeding and mating behaviour from humpback whales due to vessel interactions.

We would like reach schools throughout Canada as well as, locations within projects purposes where we want to inspire and be inspired by the children and youth of today.
